Operational Research (PO) is the area of knowledge that studies, develops and applies advanced analytical methods to assist in making better decisions in the most diverse areas of human performance. From a practical point of view, Operational Research requires a multidisciplinary team effort, requiring close cooperation between leaders (decision makers), analysts and people who will be affected by the management action. Therefore, PO demands a natural interaction between the areas of administration, engineering, computation and mathematics.
